Job Summary

Responsible for leading technical product innovation leadership and co-leading the innovation operational governance of Avrio Health’s portfolio pipeline. This role is entrepreneurial in nature and will need to work in collaboration with a worldwide network of independent associated companies to maximize efficiency pipeline development. Accountable for all technical aspects of innovation projects and post-launch product support.  The incumbent will implement strategies to align consumer needs with technical solutions as well as work with Avrio leadership team (Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Commercial) and R&D network within the worldwide independent associated companies to develop and execute R&D strategic plans and technical data support dossiers. Will implement systems to drive delivery from the earliest stages of product development through registration and commercialization of new products and establish project scope, timelines, resource requirements and milestones for deliverables. This position is based out of our New York City office and will require regular travel within North America, with some limited international travel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accountable for creating, defining, and delivering innovative and disruptive products and technologies to quickly advance Consumer Health’s business, both near term and long term.
  • Co-lead (in partnership with Commercial Innovation Lead) a cross functional team of like-minded entrepreneurs determined to provide superior healthcare products that will delight consumers.
  • Partnering with Commercial Innovation Lead to drive development of Avrio Health’s innovation portfolio and fully accountable for project results.
  • Collaborating with the other independent associated company R&D teams in the network.
  • Establishing a science lead leadership culture to focus on high priority activities to shape the business and drive future success.
  • Developing skills within the group to assure product delivery and compliance.
  • Technical leadership and fast paced project management within a matrixed organization and in a regulated industry.
  • Partnering with Business Development in the evaluation of in-licensing and commercial opportunities and the assessment of the Consumer Health therapeutic area as part of the due diligence process.
  • Representing R&D internally and the company at external meetings.  Interacting with subject matter experts (SME) and networks to foster relationships which establish the presence and reputation of R&D and the company.

Education and Experience

Science degree, together with significant consumer health products experience in the industry and substantial knowledge to be able to establish a consumer health product development process. US Citizenship required.

  • Brings a proven track record of launching innovative/disruptive products or technologies in a highly regulated industry, preferably Consumer Health.
  • Ability to operate with a high level on ambiguity and help to build dossiers and bridge data packages.
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships. 
  • Ability to work effectively through matrix teams to achieve results; evidence of developing talent.
  • Ability to see across multiple regulatory categories.
