Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to:

  1. Be responsible for all accounting and reporting related to a pharmaceuticals manufacturing company.
  2. Preparation of annual audited external financial statements and footnote disclosures as well as quarterly bank reporting requirements.
  3. Be one of the primary contacts for the external auditors, provide audit support as requested.
  4. Prepare various balance sheet account analyses.
  5. Prepare financial analysis relating to various P&L line items.
  6. Assist with other adhoc projects including budgeting and forecasting. 
  7. Participate in internal control initiatives.

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA in Accounting, with 3-4 years of public accounting / auditing experience or experience in a similar role at another company. Experience preparing or reviewing/auditing financial statements and researching accounting pronouncements. CPA/MBA and working knowledge of SAP or other financial accounting system preferred but not required. Experience with Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • The person best qualified for this position will be detail oriented, be accountable and responsible for follow-up items and possess strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.  This individual will have exposure to many different parts of the finance organization. As a result, the individual must be a team player and be able to influence constituents to complete assignments.
  • The ideal candidate will have some experience of technical accounting principles and their impact, and would be able to demonstrate the ability to research and communicate the impact of accounting pronouncements on the companies.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective and timely communication with management on all issues associated with account analysis, project work and financial reporting.
  • Investigate and follow-up on reconciling items in account analysis.
  • Ensure that transactions are reported in accordance with GAAP and research items that may have been classified incorrectly.
  • Proactively identify areas for continuous improvement in accounting processes, inconsistencies in accounting and reporting procedures.
